How To Get There

Public Transport

A very comfortabel and the most sustainable way to get to Krems is by train. We recommend you to take a look at the affordable Einfach-Raus-Ticket by ÄBB for up to 5 people (valid for ÖBB's local and regional transport trains, incl. Raaberbahn: S-Bahn, regional trains R, RegionalExpress trains REX).

Also there is a donaufestival group on Facebook where you can offer or find a shared car ride to the festival.

Arrival by car

From the motorway S5/Bundesstraße 3 take the exit Krems Zentrum. Via Bertschingerstraße and through the railway underpass you reach Heinemannstraße (car park opposite BORG) and turn left onto Edmund Hofbauer Straße to the corner of Utzstraße (Messegelände / festival grounds).

Continue along Ringstraße to Krems-Stein and cross the roundabout at the Landesgalerie Niederösterreich until you reach the Steiner Donaulände where parking spots can be found.

For visitors to the Kunstmeile Krems there is a special discount of a maximum of € 2.00 per parking ticket for the duration of their stay in the exhibition centres. You can obtain the discount ticket for this at our ticket offices.

Cinema in the Kesselhaus
"Campus West" car park
The first 3 hours in the "Campus West" car park are free, each additional hour EUR 0.50 (before 19.00: EUR 1.00). Please note: To receive the discount, have the parking ticket taken at the entrance stamped at the cinema ticket office BEFORE the film starts! The validated ticket must be entered at the ticket machine in the car park before leaving!
Saturday, Sunday and public holidays from 07.00 - 22.00 hrs:
Parking spaces in the multi-storey car park, Steiner Landstraße, for free use for a maximum of 12 hours.

Krems shipping centre car park
Daily from 08.00 to 18.00, whereby the first two hours are free of charge. From the 3rd hour the parking fee is EUR 1.50 per hour.
Paid parking zone

Abreise und Bustransfer

Bus transfer
The donaufestival offers a bus transfer on all festival evenings from
KREMS → VIENNA (KARLSPLATZ). It departs 15 minutes after the end of the last concert.
Departure Fri/Sat: Krems Stadtpark
Departure Sun: Kunsthalle Krems
Bus ticket: € 12,- (only available in advance)

Last train
The last train leaves at 23:19 pm via St. Pölten to Vienna.
The first train in the morning departs at 4.22 am directly to Vienna Franz-Josefs-Bahnhof.
