An octopus encounters the hands of a scientist in an aquarium. The two intelligent and at the same time mutually foreign living beings communicate with one another. Magnified by the lens of a camera and amplified acoustically, the animal transforms from an object into the subject of observation before the very eyes of the audience. Its gaze fundamentally questions the human being and his/her uniqueness. Conceived in 2020 as a theatre performance, this fascinating experiment now exists as a documentary film.
