Cape Town-based transgender artist Angelo Antonio Valerio aka Angel-Ho is a founding member of the NON Worldwide collective: a loose group of artists who combine the latest club music from the USA and Europe with traditional and contemporary African, Caribbean, and Asian dance music, and consider themselves the musical avant-garde of a globalised African diaspora. Angel-Ho forges big, anthemic pop moments and melodies over shredded r’n’b rhythms and tribalistic drums and choruses: music for a world that no longer has any borders, be it between the sexes, individuals, or different peoples.
