ART & INSTALLATION
Shenece Oretha explores the physical and societal aspects of sound. The main elements of her installations are loudspeakers, which come across as human-scale organisms and instruments at the same time. The title of the work refers to the novel Beloved by Toni Morrison, which amongst other things deals with slavery in the USA. In Dearly beloved the emitted soundwaves activate the rattling of golden tambourine bells mounted directly in front of the speakers.
