Death Drive is the name of the latest EP by the Nigeriannative, Canada-based singer DEBBY FRIDAY. Over metallic industrial beats she sings and raps about the violence and discrimination that have prevailed in her life as a queer black woman and migrant; but her songs are also about the sexual sovereignty and erotic pleasure that accompany the indulgence of aggressions and the decisive opposition against a patriarchal society. DEBBY FRIDAY knows that every desire has its dangerous side. And violence only helps where violence prevails.
