Since 2014 Doringer has been filming club dance floors from a bird’s eye perspective. At donaufestival he will present individual moving image sequences on numerous screens from his long-term project in progress. I Dance Alone can be interpreted as a comparative study on how masses form under the influence of music and nightlife. It demonstrates the unstable relationship between collectivity and individuality. The images are characterised by both the choreography of the mass and the self-expression of the individuals.
