Camae Ayewa calls her music slaveship punk: It is about liberation from slavery and the neverending dominance of racism in the United States, about omnipresent fear and resistance against discrimination. Under the solo project Moor Mother, Ayewa fuses harsh industrial noise with heartrending, lamenting vocals. At this edition of donaufestival you can experience her free jazz quintet Irreversible Entanglements for the first time. Alto saxophone, trumpet, bass, and drums accompany and counteract her furious ballads about life in a racist world.
