ART & INSTALLATION
In his video installation the French-Algerian artist investigates the community stables in North Philadelphia, which were founded by African-American horse riders and whose existence is threatened today. It combines documentary film fragments about the community life with associative images from a festive rider competition. Beforehand the horses are decorated in cooperation with local artists. This personalised “horse tuning” precedes the final appearance of the black cowboys in the urban wilderness.
