SOUND
Dark, roaring guitar noise with earshattering feedback; a stoic marching drum machine; distorted voices and shrieking bass; the dazzling light of white noise – already at the end of the 80s Godflesh combined every imaginable type of contemptuous noise into their own individual and influential style. Their epic debut album Streetcleaner from 1989 is considered the source of industrial metal. After a longer pause their latest album Post Self has a remarkable edge: Their music sounds as hopeless, desperate, and posthumanly cold as it did on the first day.
