The video The Re´Search Wait´S by Ryan Trecartin is integrated into the installation Premise Place (edit 1) in the Kunsthalle Krems. The young selfpromoters in the film suffer from an endless compulsion to update their status. Their influencer gibberish that they jabber the Occident to death with might well originate from a parallel universe inhabited by René Pollesch, Andy Warhol, Tao Lin, and the next YouTube make-up tutorial star. The text for The Re´Search, now available as a bilingual edition in English and German, serves as the basis for a minimalist theatre adaptation by Felix Rothenhäusler, which employs stark, white lighting effects. Three people perform like avatars playing pantomimes with speech diarrhoea. The performance conceives the broken words as a score for broken beats re-enacted through gestures and mimics. The mirror wall reflects a frantic, stumbling trip into a future without a future. There is nothing here but the urge to click and the egoshow. “Buster Keaton on amphetamines,” writes the Süddeutsche Zeitung.
