Ali Wells runs one of the main labels for industrial techno, Perc Trax, but he himself is also deemed one of the visionaries of the genre with his project Perc. Known for his piercing, violent tracks, he infuses the four quarters beat with multifarious elements: Powerful, stomping bass collides with atmospheric synths, the broken clatter of hi-hats with atonal piano textures. The Brit transports the genre to abstract spheres and establishes a micro-narrative with ingenious arrangements.
