Sean Canty and Miles Whitaker aka Demdike Stare create pulsating atmospheric electronic music that summons dub, jungle, dancehall – hence the UK bass spectrum – and archival material and embeds them in dark ambient soundscapes. Their complex interwoven tracks are structured upon labyrinthine rhythms and nuance games with various tonal colours. A hollow, ritualistic pulse throbs through their ambient techno, which tends to the occult and is often associated with horror movie soundtracks. Their current set is visually supported by artist Michael England.
