Grouper

You are sitting on a creaky veranda of a log cabin and hear an old country pop song playing in the distance: That’s what Grouper’s music sounds like. Her name is actually Liz Harris and comes from Portland, Oregon. She sings wispy folk melodies in minor that continually sink back into their own echoes or plush guitar drones. Her music feels like you are listening to it during the twilight moments of a setting day or in a transient state between waking and sleeping. It is full of memories and associations, but hypersensitive for the present at the same time: the endless now.
