How do I get to the donaufestival and how can I get back home?

All details such as directions, buses, parking lots, etc can be found here.

We recommend taking the train to Krems. For your return trip we offer a bus transfer service to Vienna and St. Pölten.

Is there a shuttle bus?

There are shuttle buses from Krems to Vienna and to St. Pölten. The bus to Vienna departs twice each evening, at 11:15 pm and after the end of the last concert. The bus to St. Pölten departs once per day after the end of the last concert.

Tickets for the shuttle bus service must be booked online in advance. Get your bus ticket here.

There is no shuttle bus service between the two festival venues. Walking distance between both venues is about 15 minutes.

I would like to see just a specific concert/performance. Is that possible?

It is not possible to purchase tickets for individual acts. Day passes must be purchased in this case.

PLEASE NOTE: For some performances additional numbered tickets must be reserved on the day of the event.

Why do I have to make reservations for the Stockholm Syndrome (surprise format) and some performances?

Due to limited capacity we recommend the reservation of numbered tickets to secure entry to these performances. We want to avoid visitors having to wait in a long line and possibly ending up not being admitted to the performance.

Here is a list with the performances that require a numbered ticket

How do I reserve my numbered ticket for a performance?

Reservations can be made on the respective day of the event from 10:00 am online and the ticket counter. For online reservations you must register with a login.

We kindly ask you to pick up your numbered tickets at the ticket counter up to 30 minutes before the beginning of the event. Thereafter, the reservations are no longer valid. Requests for remaining places can be made 20 minutes before begin at the respective event venue. No admission after the beginning of the performance. In the case of the Stockholm Syndrome series the location is announced upon reservation.

What is the donaufestival reader?

After the editions Empathy in 2017 and Endless Now in 2018, now the third donaufestival reader is dedicated to the 2019 theme that will be announced March 7th. The publication consists of eleven contributions by international authors.

The reader can be purchased for 9 EUR at the festival or in the online shop of the publisher Falter Verlag.

Is there food and catering?

Yes, there are food and drinks at the two main festival venues from several caterers, including vegetarian and vegan dishes. This year we will also provide free drinking water at the main venues.
